Who handles homeowners' insurance when you sell your home?

Selling your home is stressful—we can take some of the stress off with this one...

The question:
If I sell my home, who cancels the homeowners' insurance?

This one is really clear-cut:
The only person who can make cancellations and changes to any kind of policy is the Named Insured.

Therefore, if you sell your home, neither your lender nor your Realtor® can cancel your policy. It must be done by the named insured... most likely, you!

Not sure how to handle this? We’re happy to walk through it with you.
