Thank You For Helping Us Raise $980 for WAGS!

Since June of 2016, the We Are Grateful Sanctuary, or WAGS, has helped hundreds of dogs & cats through adoptions, transport to other rescues, paying for vet services on behalf of owners, or by reuniting lost animals with their owners. WAGS Founder, Jennifer Rouse says, “We have had heartache, tears, and celebratory moments.” The recent donation from WSIG’s third quarter Referral Program drive was definitely a celebratory moment: The 501c3 relies heavily on fundraisers for support and the pandemic has limited the opportunities to connect with the community and host fundraising events.

Katherine Terry, WSIG Office Manager, has been a “Foster” for rescued animals for 10 years and has worked with WAGS extensively. “It’s both hard and rewarding, “ she says, “I fall in love with them and I have to let them go. But it’s so great to see them go to a furever home.” She is thrilled at the number of clients and friends of Wheat State Insurance Group that have sent referrals to the agency during the drive to benefit WAGS. For each referral that the agency receives, they give the referee a $10 gift card and donate $10 to the Charity of the Quarter. Two of the referees opted to donate their gift card funds to WAGS. The final donation to WAGS was $980.

Katherine and WSIG founder, Kennton Hoffman, presented the check to Jennifer Rouse on Thursday, October 29.

WSIG’s fourth quarter charity is “Kansas Honor Flight”, a 501c3 who provides flights to national memorial monuments to veterans. If you’d like to help, send us a referral by clicking on the link below!
